Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father and mother also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. She has two younger half-siblings, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious reading book because there was no television. Ryder started to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. Lucas was released in 1986 and Ryder, then only 15, landed the role of a leading actor. Ryder was bullied in high school. Her acting career, she hoped, would help her. But, unfortunately, that didn't happen. However, she kept working towards her dream. Beetlejuice the 1988 Tim Burton film, was her debut big break. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in several movies. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
